The public was given access to Government House in 1981 — the same year the committee instrumental in saving the building was incorporated as the Government House Historical Society. Every year since then, the GHHS has continued to expand and thrive as they tackle ventures in keeping with their mission to preserve, promote and enhance our national historic treasure.
In celebration of the Government House 125th anniversary and in addition to their many popular activities, GHHS is promoting two outstanding fundraisers
The first is the launch of a new book, an illustrated history of Government House. And just in time for Christmas!
Published in celebration of the 125th anniversary of Government House in 2016, Government House, Regina, Saskatchewan: An Illustrated History is a trip through time that preserves, promotes and enhances the important place Government House occupies both in Canadian history and in modern times. Contact the Government House Historical Society to purchase your copy before they sell out.
The second; In partnership the Provincial Capital Commission, and local tea merchant Cuppa T’ Specialty Fine Teas, was to create a unique blend celebrating both the building milestone and the 25th anniversary of the popular Victorian Tea; the result a Government House 125th Anniversary Tea.
The Anniversary Tea can be purchased at Government House and at Cuppa T’, at 2732 13th Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan.
Drop by to purchase a bag for the tea lover in your family.
All proceeds from the book and tea sales will go to the Government House Historical Society to support the preservation, promotion and enhancement of Government House, a National Historic Site.
